In June 2009 we in the Mathematics department entered our first cohort for an extra GCSE in Statistics. This qualification was opened to any Year 11 pupil who reached their GCSE target previously in Year 10 and alos the the Higher Teir pupils of Year 10.
We in the Mathematics department believe it is vital to give our pupils the best opportunities of being successful in today's economic climate. Consequently, an extra GCSE goes a long way in helping them do this!
I am pleased to say that this strategy has proven to be highly successful with every pupil who was entered for GCSE Statistics receiving a 'C' grade or above!
