The aim of the course is to provide pupils with the experience of success in education via a vocational route. This option will be offered to a specific target group of 20 pupils in total.
The range of vocational subjects available at Crosskeys are as follows:-
- Motor Vehicle Maintenance - Level 1
(Equivalent to 4 GCSEs)
- Salon Services (Hair & Beauty) - Level 1
(Equivalent to 4 GCSEs)
- Land Based Services - This is about managing and working outdoors in the countryside
(Equivalent to 4 GCSEs)
- Engineering - Level 2
(Equivalent to 5 GCSEs A* - C)
- Hairdressing - Level 2
(Equivalent to 5 GCSEs A* - C)
- Fashion & Clothing - Level 2
(Equivalent to 4 GCSEs A* - C)
Pupils will study at Crosskeys for 5 hours (one whole day per week) whilst continuing their normal education at Oakdale School.
