The Tourism Industry is one of the fastest growing in the world and the world becoming a smaller place through travel. There are many opportunities in this field from tour operators and airlines, from a holiday sales representative to a career on a cruise ship. Structure of the Course
Edexcel Level 2 BTEC First Diploma in Travel & Tourism
Core Units
1. The UK Travel & Tourism Industry
2. Exploring Customer Services in Travel & Tourism
Specialist Units
1. UK Travel & Tourism destinations
The course is made up of a variety of assignments throughout the two years, these are all independent research assignments. There is no examination in this subject.
Pupils are able to achieve a Pass – Merit or Distinction at the end of the two year course depending on their level of achievement.
This new course was introduced September 2008 to present pupils with vocational opportunities; the qualification is nationally recognised for Travel & Tourism employees.
